The Miracles that have come from New Taste Market

I wanted to share a letter I received from one of our regular vendors at the New Taste Market.  It is just one of the many reasons why the market has been and will hopefully continue to be a great place for local food vendors, musicians, and wonderful non-profits like the Food Pantry can grow and thrive.

We will continue to keep you updated about our next market in October but for now I wanted to share this great note:

“I’d like to thank all of you for your friendship, support, patronage and just being there.  I started selling my chutneys, relishes, wine vinegars, marmalades, jams, and jellies at the second underground market where I met my first wholesale customer (who is still a great customer).  Since then through some great starts and mis-steps, I’ve persevered with Aunt Kitty’s Kreations to where I am now with grocery stores, cafes, and butcher shops selling my products and most exciting:
I was in the Guardian’s “Best of the Bay” list as the “Best Marmalady” just a few weeks ago!  I’ve attached the part of the article that discusses my business, but for a better (more readable) look, go to, click on Best of the Bay 2012, then click on editor’s picks food and drink, then scroll to the heading Best Marmalady.  Whoever wrote this did a great job and I want to share it with you because you were part of my getting here.
Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you!

Aunt Kitty”

Moving from Monthly to Occasionally for the New Taste Market

This link is a message from Sara, the director of the Food Pantry who works with me at New Taste Market.  I love this market and know that many of you do as well and although we will not longer be a monthly series, we hope you will continue to stay tuned for future markets and continue to support both your local food vendors and great causes like the Food Pantry.

Note from Sara
